Brown & Co has started a new Online Timed Auction service giving clients the opportunity to sell surplus farm machinery and equipment via a bespoke scheme run through the company’s website.

Partner at Brown & Co, Charlie Bryant, says the service, which will run throughout the year, offers an efficient method of selling machinery without having to transport the item to the point of sale.

He said: “The auction lot will be part of a larger offering which will attract greater publicity and interest, ensuring the best possible price is achieved.”

Each item will have its own detailed listing, alongside a series of photographs. The auction runs over seven days to a timed deadline, during which time buyers can access lots via Brown & Co’s website, view items and bid.

At the end of the bidding period the item is either sold and the buyer collects the item from the seller, or if it is not sold, it can be entered into the next timed auction.

As a regular holder of farm machinery and equipment auctions across East Anglia and the East Midlands, as well as further afield, Brown & Co has an extensive database comprising thousands of known buyers to whom the details of online auctions are circulated, said Mr Bryant.
