Two new businesses have opened in Wisbech.
The Cat’s Pyjamas Emporium, in Wisbech town centre, offers a mix of vintage items, mythical gifts and handmade crafts, sourced locally.
It was set up by Tracey Moll and Hannah Campagna who were dismayed at the number of shops closing down in Wisbech and decided to do something about it.
Tracey said: “Everyone is happy to comment on the closing of major names in our high streets, but it has been reported on the news that those high streets that are surviving are the ones where over 80 per cent of the shops are independent stores, giving much more variety and something different.”
The shop will also be offering a programme of craft-based workshops and visits from mediums and spiritual healers. Hairstylists Lucy Richmond and Michelle Chrysanthou have teamed up to open their own salon, The Hair Boutique.
Lucy, who has previously worked at two other salons in the town, and Michelle who was home-based, offer all the usual hairdressing services, as well as gel nails and eyebrow waxing.
The salon in Lynn Road opened a fortnight ago and Lucy said so far business was going well.
