Wisbech store saved from closure

THERE was good news for the 13 staff at Wisbech’s Peacocks store when they learned their store has been saved after the fashion chain was bought out by Scottish clothing group Edinburgh Woollen Mill.

The staff, who had been unsure of their future since the chain went into administration, have been told their jobs are safe and the store will remain open.

EWM has bought 338 of Peacocks’ stores. However, 3,100 staff at Peacocks have lost their jobs, as 224 of its shops have closed.
