Worcester-based, national blood cancer support charity, Leukaemia CARE is calling for runners of all abilities to join Team LC in the Virgin Money London Marathon 2014 to help support those affected by a blood cancer diagnosis.
The Virgin Money London Marathon is now the world’s largest marathon and will be taking place on Sunday 13th April 2014. As part of the 26.2-mile race, runners will take in a range of sites around London as they enjoy a route around the UK’s capital city.
More than 36,000 runners took part in the 2013 event, and 2014 is set to be even bigger. Although the ballot for the London Marathon has now closed, Leukaemia CARE has a number of guaranteed charity places available. To sign up to the event there is a £125 registration fee and a minimum sponsorship of £2250.
Helen Whatmore, Fundraising Manager at Leukaemia CARE, said: “We’re looking for keen runners to take part in this monumental running event, which will let you experience the renowned sights and sounds of the nation’s capital. Run for Team LC and you can help someone whose life has been affected by a blood cancer diagnosis.”
