The campaigning family of Jamie Butcher have received a donation from his former employers.

Stepdad Steve Green and mum Tina Butcher went to Pike Textile Displays of Wisbech to meet managing director Jon Allen.

Jamie, who died after being hit by a speeding motorist on Churchill Road, was employed by the Sandall Road company when he wasn’t at university.

Pike Textiles have donated £200 to Steve and Tina’s campaign to get harsher sentences for dangerous drivers and the family are very grateful for the company’s support.

Steve said: “We had a long chat with Jon and it was nice to hear him recall Jamie’s ‘special personality’.”

The business also held a collection after Jamie’s funeral and collected over £100, which was donated to Amnesty International, a cause close to Jamie’s heart.
