Children were given ideas about their future careers during a special convention.

More than 900 pupils browsed around the 40 stands set up at Cromwell Community College in Chatteris.

Pupils from Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech and Witchford Village College attended, as well as all youngsters from Years 10, 11 and the 6th form at Cromwell. Primary schools were also invited.

Youngsters enjoyed presentations by College of West Anglia and Anglia Ruskin University. They also had time to wander around the convention. Parents were invited to attend later in the day.

Many schools said the convention was useful due to the wide range of businesses and educational establishments present.

Pupils were eager to pass on their experiences, which included testing fruit juices, to using a speed camera on the Cambridgeshire Police stand.
