A WISBECH slimming group has raised money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance to say thank you for saving the life of one of its members.

Katherine Sawyer, who attends the Queen Mary Centre Slimming World group that is now meeting in St Peter’s Church Hall, was in a horrific car accident last year and was airlifted to hospital. She is still recovering.

Val Stanford, who runs the group, said the Air Ambulance came top when she asked group members to nominate a charity.

Over the course of six weeks, they managed to raise £1,150, which was presented to Mary Dunn from the Air Ambulance on Thursday.
