Celebrating achievements of March cadets

The achievements of March air cadets were celebrated during a presentation evening.

Members of the March 1220 Squadron were presented with their awards during a celebration in the Neale Wade Academy.

Flt Sgt Chanel Chanel Ogden, Ex-Cadet Sergeant Joe Williams and Ex-Corporal Matthew Ward were presented with their gold Duke of Edinburgh award.

Cpl Katie Mowatt won the darts trophy while Cadet Frasier Casson-Rennie took the table tennis award.

The Squadron Commander’s attendance cup was presented to Cpl Joe Goodman for attending 96 parade evenings.

The Martin award for the Highest Examination Results went to Cadet Ewan MacRae while the Keane Shield for Best New Recruit was awarded to Cadet Holly Bicknell.

Throughout the year cadets take part in the squadron competition using the No8 Rifle and this was won by A Flight.

Best shot from the Inter-flight shooting competition for the best score achieved in the competition was Sgt Kyle McLean while the Best overall shot was Cadet Flight Sergeant Alex MacRae.

Mr Barclay said: “It was great to share the evening with young people, they are obviously hardworking and dedicated and should an inspiration to other young people.”
