Wisbech woman Sue Whitby is organising her popular 60s/70s dance again this year, raising money this time for Wisbech and District Stroke Club.

Dancing is to Mel Stevens and the Strollers on November 9 at Marshland High School, West Walton, from 8pm.

Sue has organised the dance for over 20 years.

She said: “The money is going to Wisbech and District Stroke Club, they support victims of stroke and their carers.

“My son’s Godfather suffered a stroke and he and his wife need constant support, a good friend, Ken, also suffered strokes but he is now, thankfully, fully recovered.

“This is the first time I have donated to a local charity, money raised in the past has gone to Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation, Meningitis, Parkinsons UK to name but a few.

“I am keen to have a good turn out so we can raise lots of money,”

There is no bar but bring your own drink and food.

There will be raffles during the evening and Sue is keen to hear from anyone prepared to donate a prize.

Tickets are £10 from Sue on 01945-464665 or 07814304397 or email: sue.whitby@hotmail.co.uk. Tickets are also available from Fox’s Cards, Market Place, Wisbech.

Contact Sue on the above number for raffle donations.
