Wisbech charity shop appeals for help

The Cancer Research shop in Cromwell Road, Wisbech, needs help with sorting stock, serving customers and manning the till.

Manager Dan Ackeroyd said the shop is exceeding the charity’s expectations.

He said: “We have been up and running for seven months. Our yearly target was £200,000 but we have done almost £350,000 in seven months.

“I think the location and size of the shop has been the secret to our success so far.

“We are the biggest Cancer Research shop in England.

“The shop is going from strength to strength but without the volunteers we would not be able to operate.”

Currently the shop is manned by around 40 volunteers.

Mr Ackeroyd said: “We would be grateful for more help.”

Anyone who would like to volunteer at the shop should call 01945 461501.
