Local singer/songwriter Christian Smith has won a place in the national final of a holiday resort talent show.

Christian (20), from Chatteris, is in the adult national finals of Park Resorts Has Got Stars and also won a free five-day break.

He entered the weekly talent show while on holiday at Skipsea Bay in Yorkshire in August. He returned to Skipsea for the Park Finals on Sunday, October 13 and won the competition playing and singing one of his own songs, beating some very talented and varied performers.

He has won a place in the National Finals being held at Highfield Grange in Clacton on November 6 and 7, with the chance of winning £1,000 and exposure to music agents from around the country.

Christian, who is self taught, writes and performs his own songs and a selection of covers. He is a regular performer on the local music scene around March, Huntingdon and Cambridge and has recently played in the annual national Oxjam Music Festival in Cambridge in aid of Oxfam.

He will be releasing his second EP “Nightlife” on December 20 with a launch gig at The Sportsman in Chatteris, including performances from other local artists as well.
