Students at a Fenland college are the sum of success after receiving maths challenge certficates.
A total of 23 students from Years 9, 10 and 11 at the Cromwell Community College in Chatteris joined around 200,000 other students across the country in the Intermediate UK Mathematics Challenge in February.
Participants have now received certificates for the challenge, which comprised 25 demanding problems which had to be solved in 60 minutes. Josh Birchnall, from Year 11, received a Gold Award certificate and was also named the Best in Year and Best in School.
Silver Awards went to Owen Frear, Hope Bissett and Keelan Riley in Year 11 and Year 10 students Alastair Heskins, Branden Hedley and Ryan Chapman, who also won Best in Year.
Bronze Award certificates went to Charlotte Elliott, Issac Hayes, Bradley Wright, Sophie Frear, Lucy King, Timothy Peverill and Niamh Gates from Year 10 and Druaghn Chapman Fearon, Ellis Briars, Lily Brittain, Kira Chambers and George Terry from Year 9.
