Fenland folk are this month (December) being invited to help name the bar at a leisure complex in the county and be a VIP at its opening.
Tydd St Golf & Leisure Estate is opening a £2 million building, which will include a new coffee lounge and wine bar, in January and is asking for name suggestions from now onwards.
Adrian Hurst, Managing Director of Tydd St Giles Golf & Leisure Estate near Wisbech, said: “We are opening our new development in the new year. We thought asking people to join in with naming the bar would be a great way for our customers past and present to get involved.
“Perhaps people would like to name the bar after a local landmark or personality or even after a family member who is a regular visitor. All ideas are welcome.”
Anyone wishing to suggest a name should email firstname.lastname@example.org or post their entries to Jodie Hurst, Tydd St Giles Golf & Leisure Estate, Kirkgate, Tydd St Giles, Near Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, PE13 5NZ by 5pm on Tuesday, January 1.
The winning name will be chosen by Adrian and his colleagues. The winner will be invited to the official opening ceremony of the new leisure complex in January, 2013 to help cut a ribbon to declare the bar open.
Adrian added: “In order to be able to cater for the needs of our ever growing visitor numbers we have decided to add this additional leisure complex.
“The complex will feature a heated indoor pool with a coco jet machine, which controls the water current, steam room and sauna, as well as a fully air-conditioned fitness suite.
“Visitors who come for the day will be able to benefit from the new facilities, as well as people who are holidaying on-site. The complex will also create a further 18 jobs for the company.”
Tydd St Giles Golf & Leisure Estate first opened as a nine-hole golf course in 1995 and became a holiday venue in 2009 with the addition of seven holiday lodges.
The estate, which is celebrating its 18th anniversary next year, now spans more than 150 acres of Cambridgeshire’s finest Fenland. The exclusive community of luxury holiday homes and lodges has been created around an 18-hole golf course and lake.
Visitors to the estate can also enjoy horse riding, coarse fishing and there are various walks and birdwatching spots.
