THIS week is Christian Aid Week, marking 53 years of door-to-door fundraising.
Churches Together in March will, once again, be supporting Christian Aid through a range of activities in March.
There will be house-to-house collections and a street and supermarket collection on May 21, to support the on-going work of Christian Aid. Anyone who would like to help can contact Rev Jenny Webb on 01354-650855.
On Saturday May 21 Trinity Church in the High Street will also be holding a Coffee Morning from 10am to midday to which everyone is welcome.
Christian Aid works with 700 local organisations across 50 developing countries. It works with people of all faiths or none. Working with some of the poorest people in the world, it helps people to become self-sufficient by providing tools, seeds and animals, it trains people to deal with the effects of climate change and prepares them for the threat of natural disasters. Often working through local organisations – or ‘partners’ - it also provides training and education, health care, clean water and sanitation.
