THE saying goes that a good friend is hard to find, but Laura Burgess has to look no further than Clo Bell.

Clo is having her head shaved to help her friend’s fundraising target for Macmillan Cancer Support. Laura is hiking the Inca Trail in Peru in May and is busy raising as much money as she can prior to leaving.

They are putting on a party on Sunday, April 29 at Leverington Social Club, when Clo will be going under the clippers.

Everyone is welcome to attend the party, which is taking place from 4pm, and a donation is asked on entrance. There will be a disco, children’s activities, a raffle, bar and food.

Lisa from Clippers barbers in Wisbech will be doing the headshave and people will be invited to bid for the chance to shave or cut some of Clo’s hair.

Clo has also been fundraising, doing bucket collections and collecting sponsorship for her stunt. All the money she collects will add to Laura’s total.

Laura is fundraising for Macmillan after losing her mum Dot Rayner to leukaemia last year. During her illness, Macmillan gave support and treatment that enabled the family to cope better with the illness.

Clo was one of the carers from the Care Agency UK, who looked after Laura’s mum and also a friend of Laura’s.

If you would like to attend the event at Leverington Sports and Social Club, they invite you to turn up on the day. For more information, contact Clo Bell on 07557-225307. You can also make a donation at www.justgiving.com/Laura-Burgess3
