The Middle Level Watermen’s Club has had a very busy time lately.

Members were left very impressed after visiting the new pumping station at St Germans, with a spokesperson saying: “This feat of engineering could not fail to impress everyone. With flooding at the top of the country’s agenda, it was pleasing to learn how one pump can move up to 120 tons of water per second.” They went on to Denver to explore the flood defences with Environment Agency employee Dan Pollard.

Later that same week, the Harbour Master collected an award from Anglia in Bloom for the work done at Skoulding’s Rest. The award will be displayed at the new boating faciltiy.

The club is looking forward to a comprehensive social and cruising programme this year. New members always welcome, contact Brian Phillips on 01354-657314.
