Commemoration service held

Cambridgeshire Regt Association 'Annual Service''Association Members gathers at St Peter's Church, March for the Cambridgeshire Regt Association Annual Commemoration Service on Sunday.''The Mayor of March along with Representatives from March Town Council, Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force and a number of Town folk joined the Service which was conducted by the Rev Anthony Chandler.''Col. (Retired) Colin Elsden DL and Mr Freddie Grounds MBE read the Lessons.''Organised by the March Branch of the Cambridgshire Regt Association the Chairman, Mrs Janet Anderson said 'This years Service was very well supported particularly by the Whittlesey and Wisbech Branches along with the Army Cadets from March Detachment.'''Members of the Cambridgeshire Regt whom saw active service in the Second World War many of which were later captured at Singapore. The Territorial Army Regiment continued as a TA Regiment until 1967. Although now disbanded the traditions and history of the Regiment live on in the Royal Anglian Regiment and C

MEMBERS of the Cambridgeshire Regiment Association gathered at March St Peter’s Church for the annual commemoration service recently.

March Mayor Bernard Keane along with other representatives of March Town Council, Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force and a number of members of the public joined the service conducted by the Rev Anthony Chandler.

The lessons were read by Col (retired) Colin Elsden and Mr Freddie Grounds.
