Trees worth £105 have been donated to the Waterlees playground in Wisbech as part of the Wisbech in Bloom celebrations.

The saplings were given to the playground at The Spinney by Biffa and the Woodland Trust as part of a scheme to improve the biodiversity of the area.

Help is now needed to plant the trees at a special event this weekend. Penny Stocks from Wisbech in Bloom is coordinating a community tree planting day on Saturday 9 November in partnership with the County Council’s Spinney Adventure Playground team, and Wisbech North County Councillor Paul Clapp.

The day will kick off at 10am and volunteers - adults and children and young people - are needed to help with the digging, moving, planting and securing of the saplings.

Anyone interested in helping on the day is asked to register their interest at the Adventure Playground after school this week, or to call 01354 750439.
