All the fun of the circus went to Heron House in March as a group of theatrical children put on a show for residents.
The talented youngsters had been hard at work in the week leading up to the show at a summer workshop run by PlayRight theatre company.
Company director Charlie Borland, who runs PlayRight with fellow director John Shields, said the children were given the theme and then left to come up with their own ideas.
“They came up with songs, dancing, clowns, a magic sketch and jokes,” she said. “We are so proud of them. It’s so difficult to get up on stage and perform. They all did a fantastic job.”
Rachel Clarke is one of the activities co-ordinator at Heron House and said the residents absolutely loved the production.
She said: “It was really lovely. The residents loved it. We had so much lovely feedback – one man was almost in tears.”
Rachel, who works alongside Val Ingram, added the children were marvellous with the residents.
