The Beast from the East is a bespoke 4-wheel drive made from titanium panels taken from Mig-21 fighter planes, with its design based on an East German army truck.

Event director Colin Ward said: “I’m thrilled that we have such an unusual truck entered at Truckfest Peterborough this year.

“The Beast from the East jet truck made such an impact at the Olympics and those that didn’t get a chance to see the machine will get an exclusive opportunity to see it in the flesh.”

The truck will be based in the Main Arena complete with pyrotechnics on both the Sunday and Monday.
