A Rings End resident has hit out at Cambs County Council after enduring weeks of disruption from road resurfacing works going on in the area.
Jean Wallace (81) lives on March Road and said the lorries involved in the resurfacing work were coming and going past her house as they were using the old road as a base for collecting and dropping off materials.
Mrs Wallace said the noise and dust from the lorries was horrendous and the kerbs have been damaged.
A CCC spokesman said: “The surface dressing work is important to help us maintain the highway network in good condition. This site is central in the Fenland area and has for some years been used as a base for this type of operation as it helps us reduce our transport costs. We always try to be mindful of the impact on local residents and I can only apologise for any disturbance caused. We have now finished the resurfacing work in Fenland and the site will be tidied up and closed down.”
