Doddington Horticultural Society held its 67th Annual Show on Saturday in the Village Hall and the prize presenter was Christine Curtis, practice nurse at Doddington Medical Centre.

The show was a great success although this year’s overall entries were down by 50 to 789. The Adult sections were down but the Children’s were up by one.

The main areas down were the Cookery & Preserves, Handicrafts and Adult Art Sections while Vegetable, Fruit and Flower Sections were unaffected.

The Children’s Section maintained a high level of entries.

It has been decided for next year’s show to split the seven years and under section into four years and under and five to seven years.

Tribute was paid at the show to Eileen Bamford, a staunch supporter, who had sadly died this year.
