FENLAND’S children are being invited to say what they would do if they were King or Queen – as part of June’s Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration.
The promotion by value brand 99p Stores – which has a popular branch in Wisbech town centre – will see the winning child and school sharing 99 Jubilee goodies, guaranteed to make any celebration brilliant.
These commemorative products include a three-tier cupcake stand plus a special British baking cupcake kit – as well as a portrait of Her Majesty in an “antique” gold frame.
Other 99p Jubilee souvenirs include bunting, flags, party-wear, shopping bags, mugs, tea towels, tablecloths - in all around 300 different products.
Youngsters should write up to 99 words on what they would do if they were ruling the country.
Schools, why not set this as a creative writing exercise and see what pupils come up with, then send them in?
Send your entries, along with your name, age, address and a daytime telephone number - marked ROYALTY COMPETITION - to the Citizen at 11 Union Street, Wisbech, PE13 1DN.
Entries can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Closing date is 10am on Friday, May 18.
