A CLASSIC Mini car in the process of being lovingly restored has been targeted by thieves.
Cezare White, of Sutton Road, Leverington, was devastated to discover his car had been broken into on December 29 between around 4.30pm and 6pm.
He said the theft would have taken at least 30 minutes and he is hoping someone travelling on the busy A1101 saw something.
The classic car was damaged – including the driver’s door, boot, rear window, steering column and ignition – and around £1,000 of contents were stolen, including the centre clocks, stainless steel door handles and a Maniflow centre two-inch exhaust system.
A valuable and unique set of wheels were also taken. They will only fit a classic Mini and Mr White said there are not many of them left.
The wheels are described as 13x7 Superlite split rims and tyres (white centre on Yokohamas). A reward of £100 is being offered for their return.
Mr White said there were several unsuccessful attempts to start the car, which he has been restoring for five years and was off the road.
