POLICE are warning owners of 4x4 vehicles in Fenland to take extra security precaution following a series of catalytic converter thefts. Between March 8 and 12, there were six thefts in Wimblington, Doddington, March and Whittlesey.
Officers are conducting extra patrols in these areas. It is believed the converters are stolen for the metals they contain.
Owners of 4x4 vehicles, particularly the Mitsubishi L200 and Nissan Navara, are being urged to keep them in a garage overnight, if possible, or park them in well-lit areas.
Anyone with information about the thefts should contact Detective Sergeant Matt Swash on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555-111.
