THE third week of the Cambs Police drink drive campaign has seen 28 people arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Force’s anonymous reporting line has also received 49 calls during its second week of operation.
Insp Chris Skepper said: “It is always disappointing to find that some drivers are still flouting the law.
“We will continue our pro-active approach by conducting regular stop checks to ensure those people who ignore the law are brought to justice.
“The numbers of calls to our drink drive line increased significantly over the past week which is extremely encouraging and are currently following up this information.”
The enforcement campaign runs until the end of June, while the confidential hotline will be piloted for three months.
Using the 0800-032-0845 number, people can get involved in the campaign by supplying police with information about drink and drug drivers.
