Do you recognise seized jewellery?

POLICE have released images of almost 200 pieces of jewellery recovered in Cambridge.

Officers seized the property which includes watches, rings, necklaces and pendants, in the city last month. Several trophies have also been seized by police.

Now officers want to trace the owners of the property.

Every item has been placed on the force’s Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/CambsCops - where people can claim their property.

Detectives believe the items may have been stolen from homes across Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire or other neighbouring counties.

Detective Sergeant Chris Tatum-Horsfield said: “We have recovered a huge amount of property, much of which we believe to have been stolen.

“I would urge anyone who has had jewellery taken during a burglary over the past year to check the gallery on our Facebook page to see if they can identify any of the property we have recovered.”

Visit the CambsCops Facebook page and click on the gallery to view all of the items. People can email a designated mailbox OpRobbin@cambs.pnn.police.uk to claim any of the property.

An open day may also be held to give people the chance to claim the property.

• Two men aged 47 and 21 are currently on police bail in connection with the investigation.
