POLICE are investigating an arson attack at a house in Wisbech in which a flammable liquid was poured through the front door.
The incident happened at a property in North Street at around 10pm on Saturday December 3. A fluid or substance was put through the front door of the property and ignited.
A man in the room by the door saw the fire start and alerted other people in the property who put the flames out with buckets of water.
It is believed two people were involved in the attack but there are no descriptions.
There were seven adults and a child in the house at the time.
Detectives are treating the incident as an arson with intent to endanger life.
DC Tony Harlow said: “Luckily the man saw the fire and acted quickly because there were other people in the house who were asleep. It could have been a lot worse and I am keen to catch those responsible as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact DC Harlow on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555-111.
