Man denies auction fraud

A FORMER March man alleged to have collected memorabilia for a fake charity auction has pleaded not guilty to charges of fraud.

Thomas Smith, from South Side, Wimbotsham, appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on Monday charged with committing fraud between February 25 and March 5 2010, when he is said to have made representations to Cheryl Platts, which he knew to be misleading.

The case was adjourned and he was granted conditional bail until September 5.
