Two men from Marshland St James have been charged with drug offences.

The charges related to an incident on Wednesday 11 September when officers stopped a car on the A1101 in Welney, finding twelve cannabis plants were found in the vehicle.

As a result of this search officers executed a drug warrant on Smeeth Road, Marshland St James, finding 250 cannabis plants at the premises.

George Himonas (54), of Smeeth Road, Marshland St James was charged on Wednesday, 20 November with possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply and producing a Class B drug.

Paul Darren Purcell (33), of Smeeth Road, Marshland St James was also charged with producing cannabis.

Both men were released on bail to appear before the King’s Lynn Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 4 December.

A 23 year-old man who was arrested during the same incident has been release without charge.
