A MARCH mum is warning young girls and women not to walk alone with headphones in their ears after her daughter was followed by a man in March.
The young teenager was followed on Wednesday morning through West End and into Gaul Road by a man described as tall, slim, aged in his 30s. He was wearing a black gillet and dark jeans and had either short light hair or a shaved head.
The man ran after the teenager when she ran and she dashed into a house in Gaul Road pretending it was her home where she hid for ten minutes.
The incident has been reported to police and the mum has this message for females. “Please don’t walk along with headphones in. Be aware of who is around you at all times.”
The mum has since learned of other similar incidents in March last month from other parents.
Police confirmed the incident was reported on Monday and they have increased patrols in the town.
Police are urging people to report anyone acting in a suspicious manner or any suspicious behaviour.
