INCREASED patrols continued throughout the county last night (Thursday, August 11) in response to disorder in London and other cities and there were no related incidents in Cambridgeshire.
Reactive, specialist and neighbourhood officers were support by PCSOs, specials and police support unit officers.
Deputy Chief Constable John Feavyour said: “Last night remained quiet across the county with officers dealing with the usual calls for service you would expect on a Thursday evening.
“There was an increased police presence on the county’s streets and this will continue over the forthcoming days to provide reassurance to the community.
“We understand there may be concerns and feelings of vulnerability within a number of communities and are working closely with our partners and community leaders to address those concerns.”
Officers from Cambridgeshire continue to assist the Metropolitan Police.
