DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a man held-up a service station at gunpoint.
The offender walked into the Robin Hood Service Station, in March, wearing a balaclava at 7.35pm on New Year’s Eve (December 31).
He pointed a handgun at two members of staff and demanded they open the till and the safe. He took cash before making off.
The offender is described as white, in his late 20s, muscular and six foot to 6’2’’. He was carrying a black and grey rucksack.
Police want to speak to a regular customer who entered the store shortly after the offender had left as he may have vital information to assist the investigation.
Detective Constable Mark Yendley, investigating, said: “This was a terrifying experience for the members of staff who were threatened.
“I would appeal to anyone who saw this man before or after the incident to contact police.
“In particular we would like to trace the customer who came into the store a few minutes after the robbery. He was told he could not be served because of what had just happened, but may have seen the offender making off.”
Anyone with any information should call DC Yendley on 0345-456-4564 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555111.
