THIEVES have stolen around £10,000 worth of clothing from a Wisbech shop specialising in designer wear.
The culprits smashed the 300-year-old door of Robert Goddard’s premises in Bridge Street at around 1am on Sunday night to gain access to the store.
The burglars, who were caught on CCTV and were wearing hoodies, grabbed a range of men’s clothing including jeans and jumpers from the Firetrap brand before making good their escape minutes before police arrived.
Oliver Tookman, owner of Goddard’s, said the break-in was an annoying inconvenience in the run-up to the busy Christmas period, but added the store still had plenty of designer stock to satisfy customers’ needs.
“It is a real pain, and something we can do without, but I would like to reassure our customers that we are still open and that we still have a wide range of brands and goods in stock,” said Mr Tookman.
