Three Good Samaritans sought

Police would still like to speak to three Eastern European men who came to the aid of an elderly robbery victim.

The incident happened between 10am and 10.30am on Sunday, May 5, in Park Road, Wisbech.

The 70-year-old woman was approached by two men wearing black hooded tops, one of whom raised a fist and demanded money. As she handed over her purse, the three men came to her assistance, two chasing the robbers off while the third remained with the victim.

The robbers were white and one had an English accent but there is no further description.

Detective Sergeant Matt Swash, investigating, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this robbery and particularly the three men who helped the lady, as they could have very important information.

“This was a cowardly crime, which left the victim shaken and upset, and I am keen to trace those responsible. Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could prove vital to this investigation.”
