A shoplifting Lithuanian drunkard will be spending Christmas back in his home country after being deported from the UK today (Friday).
Dainius Genulevicius first came to police attention in 2010 and since then has been arrested 18 times for shop theft, and alcohol related issues in the Wisbech area.
Police had recently commenced procedures for a anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) on Genulevicius.
Police have been working with Fenland District Council, the UKBA and other agencies, and he was recently detained for offences, with UKBA detaining him to be removed from the UK.
Sgt Dave Bax said: “The police continue to work with agencies to encourage progression into independent living, but where persons choose not to engage their treaty rights we will work to reconnect them with their home country.”
