Darts ace Adams at Tydd St Giles

DARTS ace Martin (Wolfie) Adams is to make a charitable appearance at Tydd St Giles Community Centre on July 27 for a fundraising event on behalf of the Friends of St James’ Church at Newton.

Martin has a flight of titles to his darts career, including achieving a nine-dart 501 finish on two occasions in tournament play.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Funds are desperately needed to continue refurbishing the fabric of the church and its interior.

A toilet for the disabled and kitchen is a priority as this will enable more events to be held at the church.

Unfortunately, money raised within the last year has had to go towards replacing lead stolen twice from the church roof. Martin has agreed to hold an exhibition and there will be an opportunity for anyone to play against him. Tickets are £1 for names to be dropped into a hat and he hopes to play as many people as possible.

The dartboard will be auctioned off after play has finished.

Children under 11 will be admitted free provided accompanied by an adult. Tickets are £5 per person and available by post or in person from Newton Village Post Office (01945 870201). Tickets on the door subject to availability.

There will also be a raffle.
