CHATTERIS boxing legend Dave’Boy’ Green had a date with royalty on Friday when he visited Buckingham Palace to collect his MBE.
The former British and European Light-Welterweight boxing champion was awarded the honour in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list for his work for charity.

He picked up his award from Prince Charles with his family, wife Kay and children, David, Suzanne and Emma, watching on.
Dave said: “It was a really great day, it went very well. Prince Charles was very nice. We had lunch at our hotel before coming home and having a celebration with friends and family.”
Dave said was honoured to receive the award and said it was something he never expected.
“I have been doing events for more than three decades and must have raised millions.
“I never dreamt for a minute that I would end up getting an award like this, but it’s a great honour,” he said.
