WHEN Dean Partridge reached the end of November, he thought his Movember challenge was over, but that was not to be.
In return for a £300 boost to his fundraiser – taking his total to a cool £1,000 – the Wisbech barber agreed to have his facial hair dyed.
The offer came from Fenland Hygiene, a Wisbech company, who went to Dean’s Norfolk Street premises on Friday to hand the cash over.
Dean had kept his word and his moustache was a lovely two-tone shade of bright orange and purple.
Dean said: “I had originally said that if I raised £1,000, I would keep my moustache growing a week longer and let the girls here colour it.
“I didn’t get that much and was looking forward to shaving it off when Andy Thorpe from Fenland Hygiene came in for a haircut. He said he would give me the rest of the money in return for dying it purple.”
The money was presented by Tony Haestier from Fenland Hygiene and it was raised through an annual golf day for the firm’s customers.
It is held in aid of a different charity each year and guests pay out money in fines throughout the day.
