Delamore officially launched its fundraising team for 2013 this week in a bid to raise money for the Queen Elizabeth hospital’s Palliative Care CNS unit.
Delamore challenged their teams to compete in this years Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR) 10k run, in King’s Lynn, on May 5 back in January. After much deliberation trying to choose a charity Delamore decided to ask an employee of theirs, who had been diagnosed with a terminal form of pancreatic cancer, to pick one for them. After speaking with her family, Annette Atter, known to her Delamore colleagues as Netty, picked the ‘Palliative Care CNS Fund’, which is a department of the local hospital and also has close links with the Macmillan charity.
Netty sadly died in late January at the age of 50, after suffering for a relatively short period. Annette was a much loved and respected colleague of Delamore and will be greatly missed.
As a result Delamore are determined to raise as much money as they can for Netty and her chosen charity as they promised they would. Delamore have already signed up nearly forty colleagues to the run including the company Chairman and the board of directors.
