A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Major Trauma Centre on Saturday after suffering a serious fall at the Doddington Motorcross Track.
Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Maria Smith and Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived, in the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance, at 2.47pm to tend a man in his 30s was involved in a severe fall from a motocross bike.
The Magpas team assessed the patient, who suffered injuries to his collarbone and pelvis. They administered pain relief and sedated the man, before measures were then put into place to straighten his fractures and protect his spine.
The Helimedix then airlifted him to Addenbrooke’s Major Trauma Centre, monitoring his condition all the way. On arrival at the hospital, the patient was in a serious but stable condition.
The Helicopter team was: Pilot Matt Tacon and Air Observer Steve Hunwicks. An EEAST Ambulance Crew was also present.
