Visitors to Wisbech’s library were encouraged to bring along books of their native language during an event at the Ely Place facility on Sunday.
Dozens of guests, including town mayor Garry Tibbs, took part in the session, which included the chance to sample the different cultures and foods of the town’s communities.
Books in Latvian, Lithuanian and Russian, as well as English, were brought along during the session.
And Louise Aldridge, the Cambridgeshire library service’s community participation officer for Fenland, said: “It was about celebrating our diversity.
“We wanted to do something that was joyful and it certainly was.”
