A man was caught drink-driving as he parked outside his own home, magistrates have been told.
Rafal Ul, 38, of Kinderley Road, Wisbech, pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared in court in King’s Lynn on Thursday.
The court heard he had been stopped by police in the early hours of March 23 after he narrowly avoided hitting a parked car.
He was arrested when officers smelled alcohol in the car.
Mitigating solicitor Roger Glazebrook said Ul had gone to collect his car, having been unable to park outside his home when he returned there several hours earlier.
He said a Christian party had been taking place nearby at the time, adding: “They stopped him outside his home.”
Ul gave a positive breath test and further tests revealed he had 130 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80.
Ul was given a 12-month driving ban and fined £250. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a £25 victim surcharge.
