Lucky March pensioner Edna Moore had a thousand reasons to celebrate on Thursday after she scooped top prize in a national draw.
The 86-year-old won £1,000 in the quarterly draw run by Age UK for customers who have requested insurance quotes.
Mrs Moore, who is a grandmother and great grandmother, was presented with a cheque at the charity’s Cambridgeshire headquarters in Chatteris. She received her payout from Paul Smith the regional sales manager, Sandra Broadbent, trading supervisor, and Gloria Culyer, chief executive.
Her name was entered in the draw, which is run across the country once a quarter, after she approached the charity for a quote on her home insurance.
She is planning to spend her unexpected windfall on a treat for her large family which includes five great grandchildren.
