Students at Cromwell Community College learned about the world of work with a development day.
Year 9 pupils at the Chatteris school were visited by Fenland Enterprise in Education, a special initiative that brings together business and education.
They learned how businesses work and were given the challenge of running their own, from learning about profit loss to customer care.
Jill Clarke, from Cromwell, said: “It’s been a whirlwind experience. It shows the students why they’re learning the skills that are. It allows them to see the cross between school and business.”
Following the Boombiz activity, the teenagers spent an hour in the library researching different careers and the skills required.
As part of the development day, they also had a talk from a member of staff with business experience and spoke to employers who came along on the day. Mrs Clarke said they were very impressed with the students.
