FESTIVE food enthusiasts rustled up a mouth watering mix of seasonal delights at a Christmas cook-in at Wisbech Grammar School.
More than 20 parents and students donned their aprons for a day of Christmas cookery and floral decoration organized by head of food and nutrition Mrs Alison Sloan and community work organiser Miss Jan Wildman.
The blend of kitchen novices and seasoned chefs rose to the challenge of making Christmas cakes and mincemeat – and then they turned their hands to making floral decorations, including wreaths for doors and table centrepieces, while the cakes were baking.
For lunch they tucked into spiced pumpkin soup with breads and cheeses, and this was followed by a dessert of warm chocolate and date pudding served with fresh cream.
Mrs Sloan said: “The whole day was a lovely atmosphere. Everyone got into the Christmas spirit and went home laden with festive treats.”
