WISBECH Mayor Viv MacRae and her consort Gary MacRae were the special guests at the launch on Monday of a new school newspaper.

Pupils at Gorefield School have set up there own news team with the aim of producing a newspaper 
for their school after the idea was put forward during an assembly.

Ten pupils have formed a ‘Press Pack Committee’ and they will be working on creating a newspaper over the next few weeks with 
the aim of producing the first edition at the end of this half term.

Mrs MacRae was met by editor Bethany and photographer Holly who welcomed before being introduced to the rest of the committee: Delia, Eva, Daniel, Paris, Nicole, Kate and Hannah.

The Mayor kindly agreed to not only launch the paper but to also be interviewed by reporter Delia who asked several questions about Mayoral duties. Delia said although she was nervous 
it was very exciting to meet an important person.

The newspaper is called ‘Fishy News At Gorefield School’

Meetings have been set up, interviews arranged, and ideas in hand which 
are currently being researched for the first edition.
