POLICE are to launch another crackdown following further complaints about illegal parking outside schools in March.
Concerns were raised that drivers are still parking on single yellow lines and on the keep clear zones in front of schools at a recent panel meeting.
Over coming weeks, officers will be carrying out patrols across the town and fining drivers caught parking illegally.
CCTV will also be used.
PC Phil Richardson said: “I’m really disappointed this has been raised by local residents again as a panel priority.
“Parking regulations outside schools are there for a reason and motorists who flout the law are putting children’s lives at risk.
“Numerous letters have been sent out to parents but people continue to park illegally and inconsiderately.
“Anyone caught parking illegally outside a school faces a fine or even prosecution. “We are committed to making schools safe places for young people to attend.”
