BEAUPRE Community Primary School held a “fantastic” Diamond Jubilee Sports Morning on Wednesday.
It was a sports day with a jubilee twist as the pupils were divided into teams reflecting the decades from the 1950s onwards.
Each decade dressed for the occasion and performed an opening dance to music from that era.
The sports were traditional with bean bag races, egg and spoon and obstacle races. As part of the celebrations, Wisbech deputy mayor Samantha Hoy officially opened an outdoor classroom which will bring music and drama outside. The wooden bandstand-style building has been funded by the Beaupre Friends Group.
The morning also highlighted the school’s gifted and talented pupils with street dance, karate, football, netball and gymnastic skills.
The organisers were deputy headteacher Lorraine Vandervelde and Tracey Connell. Lorraine said it was a “fantastic” morning.
