LEVERINGTON Academy’s wish for some summer sunshine for the start of the school holidays came true for a few days with a sweltering start to the long break.
The whole school - over 200 pupils - celebrated the end of term with a “Here comes Summer” production of four performances to packed audiences.
Parents, grandparents and friends were invited to come along and celebrate the end of a successful year.
Elaine Aldrich, deputy headteacher, explained the children were dressed for summer with bright clothes, sun hats and sun glasses and they were hoping for sunshine.
The children had selected the songs which were based on summer holidays. The school choir sang two songs and the recorder group also performed.
“It’s a time when we invite families and friends into school to celebrate a successful year,” said Mrs Aldrich.
